Dr Angela Liew, University of Auckland
Angela Liew is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the University of Auckland Business School and is the principal researcher of a large-scale qualitative research study on The Future of Accounting Work that examines the human impacts of automation and artificial intelligence in commercial and accounting firms. She often chairs accounting practitioner conferences, speaks regularly at and/or moderates panel discussions regarding the future of accounting graduates, career realities of academia to PhD students, and employability of international/Asian/Malaysian students.

- Enabling early integration to enhance graduate employability
- Highlighting and promoting graduate outcomes that value cross-border learners’ cultural capital
This session will examine intercultural variables that cross-border learners negotiate in relation to job-seeking. It will consider employability challenges not necessarily faced by other cohorts. The relationship between early integration and graduate employability will be discussed along with the positive benefits associated with positive employment outcomes for cross-border learners. Workshop participants will explore tailored whole-of-provider strategies that leverage institutional graduate outcomes and offer practical support.
